QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ACADEMIC POSITIONS

 

  • Professor

Interested applicants must possess a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (B.A/B.Sc.) with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division, and Master of Arts/Master of Science (MA/M.Sc.) and a Doctor of Philosophy Ph.D, with at least Twelve (12) years of continuous Teaching and Research at the University level.

Applicants must be able to show evidence of scholarship and track record of outstanding research with scholarly peer-reviewed publications in chosen fields of specialty and expertise.

So also, these outstanding research and scholarly publications and or patent invention and design should have appeared in print, and there must be an identifiable contribution to knowledge in the field of specialization.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates whose qualifications must be registered with a Professional Body, where applicable.

To be appointable, the ideal candidates will be expected to demonstrate evidence of Academic Leadership, research ability to supervise Post Graduate student supervision in the field, capacity to develop the field/discipline in the department, and skills for collaborative and multidisciplinary research.

(b)               Associate Professor/Reader

Interested applicants must possess a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (B.A./B.Sc.) with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division, Master of Arts/Master of Science (MA/M.Sc.) and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), with at least Ten (10) years of continuous Teaching and Research at the University level.

Applicants must be able to show evidence of scholarship and track record of outstanding research with Scholarly Publications in peer-reviewed internationally rated journals/outlets.

So also, these outstanding research and scholarly publications and or patent invention and design should have appeared in print, and there must be an identifiable contribution to knowledge in the field of specialization.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates whose qualifications must be registered with a Professional Body, where applicable.

 

To be appointable, the ideal candidates will be expected to demonstrate evidence of Academic leadership, ability to supervise Post Graduate student supervision in the field, capacity to develop the field/discipline in the department, and skills for collaborative and multidisciplinary research.

(c)                Senior Lecturer

To be appointable interested applicants must possess a minimum of Second Class in Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (B.A/B.Sc.), Master of Arts/Master of Science, (M.A/M.Sc.) and a Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D from a recognized University with at least Eight (8) years of Teaching Research at the University level. Candidates must show evidence of a minimum of Twelve (12) Scholarly Publications in peer-reviewed internationally rated journals/outlets and an identifiable contribution to knowledge in field of specialization. The applicant must be able to demonstrate potentials for academic leadership in teaching and research.

(d)               Lecturer I

Interested Applicants must possess a minimum of Second Class in Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (B.A/B.Sc.), Master of Arts/Master of Science, (M.A/M.Sc.) and a Doctor of Philosophy, (Ph.D) from a recognized University with at least Five (5) years of Teaching and Research at the University level.

To be appointable, candidates must show evidence of a minimum of Six

(6) scholarly publications in peer-reviewed internationally rated reputable journals/outlets and must be able to demonstrate potentials for academic leadership.

(e)                Lecturer II

Interested Applicants must possess a minimum of Second Class in Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (B.A/B.Sc.), Master of Arts/Master of Science (M.A/M.Sc.) and a Doctor of Philosophy, (Ph.D) from a recognized University with at least Four (4) years of Teaching and Research at the University level.

To be appointable, candidates must show evidence of a minimum of Five

(5) scholarly publications in peer-reviewed internationally rated reputable journals/outlets and must be able to demonstrate potentials for academic leadership.

(f)                 Assistant Lecturer

Interested Applicants must possess a minimum of Second Class in Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (B.A/B.Sc.) and a Master of

 

Arts/Master     of    Science,     (M.A/M.Sc.)     from    a    recognized     University. Teaching and Research will be an advantage.

Note:

To be appointable, candidates must show evidence of One (1) scholarly publication and must be able to demonstrate potentials for academic leadership.

Must have evidence of registration for Ph.D or almost concluding a Ph.D programme in relevant field.

(2)              REGISTRY

Registrar

The Registrar shall be the Chief Administrative Officer of the University and shall be responsible to the Vice-chancellor for the day-to-day running of the University. He shall also be the Secretary to the Governing Council, Senate, Congregation and Convocation.

The ideal applicant must possess a minimum of Second Class in Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (B.A/B.Sc.) and a Master of Arts/Master of Science, (M.A/M.Sc.) from a recognized University with at least 14 years of relevant post- graduation experience in University administration or a similar institution, and should not be below the rank of Deputy Registrar shall be between the ages of 45-60 years. Possession of a higher degree and membership of recognized professional bodies such as CIPM, NIM, and ANUPA will be an advantage.

 

The applicants must be a team player with good leadership qualities to inspire and motivate a crop of administrative officers. He/She must command respect, be ready to instill confidence and relate with subordinates.

Principal Assistant Registrar

  • Applicants must have a good honours degree from a recognized University in the Arts or Social Sciences. Possession of a Master’s Degree will be an

  • To be appointed, an applicants for this position must possess Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretarial Administration with at least a certificate of proficiency in computer operation from a recognized Institution;

Hostel Warden (Male & Female)

  • Candidates must    possess     five    O’Level    credits    including     English Language;
  • Must have a National Diploma (ND).

Hostel Assistant (Male & Female)

  • Candidates must possess a minimum of five O’Level Credits including English and Mathematics;

(3)              BURSARY

Bursar

The Bursar shall be the Chief Finance Officer of the University, and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.

The ideal applicants must possess a minimum of Second Class in Bachelor   of Science in Accounting. The candidates must  have  Professional Accounting Qualification i.e. ICAN/ANAN/ACA/CAN/ACCA/ACMA with at least 14 years relevant experience in addition the ideal applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to formulate and implement  financial policies and produce manual of University Financial procedures.

Senior Internal Auditor

  • Applicants must possess a minimum of Second Class in Bachelor of Science in Accounting. The candidates must have at least 6 years post qualification cognate experience plus a final part certificate of a recognized accounting

(4)              ACADEMIC PLANNING UNIT Planning Officer 1

  • Applicants must    possess     a    good    University    degree    in    Economics,

Statistics, Business Administration, or any other relevant discipline from a recognized University. Must have at least 3 years post-qualification experience. Must be computer literate.

 

Quality Control Officer 1

  • Applicants must possess minimum of Six (6) years relevant post qualification work experience, especially in a tertiary
  • Must have a good honours degree from a recognized University in the Arts or Social Sciences. Possession of a Master’s Degree will be an advantage.

(5)              LIBRARY Library Officer

  • Applicants must    possess      five    O’Level    credits     including     English

Language;

  • Must have a National Diploma (ND) in Library Science. Must be computer

 

(6)              WORKS DEPARTMENT

Director of Works and Services

Applicants must possess a good honours degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, be registered with COREN and possess a minimum of 15 years cognate post-qualification experience in a corporate organization, 3 of which must be at top management level.

Senior Architect

  • Applicants must have a Master’s Degree from a recognized University
  • Applicants must possess a minimum of 3 years relevant post qualification work
  • Applicants must be Computer Literate and conversant with the latest trends in software, like Auto cad Revit, Archicad, Microstation, maya and other plugins and add

Higher Technical Officer (Engineering)

  • Applicants must possess a good degree/HND or B.Eng in Structural Engineering discipline. Must have at least 3 years post-qualification experience. Must be computer

Technical Assistant (Plumber/Electrician/Carpenter)

  • SSS 3 plus Trade Test II certificate and 3 years relevant work experience.

Driver/Mechanic

  • SSS 3, Trade Test II certificate plus class ‘E’ Drivers License and 4years driving

(7)              CLINIC

 

Medical Officer 1

  • Applicants for this position must possess an MBBS Degree and full Registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigerian (MDCN).
  • Applicants must possess at least 3 years post qualification work experience.

Pharmacy Technician

  • Applicants must possess a good degree with completion of the prescribed 4 years training programme at the School of Health Technology and must be registered with the Institute of Medical Laboratory for Technician
  • Applicants must possess at least 3 years post qualification work experience.

 

Laboratory Technician

  • Applicants must possess a good degree/HND in relevant discipline. Must have at least 3 years post-qualification

 

(8)             SECURITY

Senior Security Officer

  • Applicants must possess a degree/HND plus at least four 4 years working experience plus ASP or

  • Applicants for this position must have a minimum of Second Class

Degree preferably in Arts, Journalism, Mass Communication, Social Sciences or English Language. Possession of a Master’s Degree will be an advantage.

Assistant Chief Graphic Artist

  • Applicants for this position must possess a minimum of National Diploma (ND) in Computer Science with specialty in Desktop Publishing, plus minimum of 3 years post qualification work experience.
