College of Education Ekiadolor Has Been Shut Down

The management of College of Education Ekiadolor has
ordered a close down of the
institution following students’ protests.

Students of the institution last Wednesday staged a protest along the Benin-Ore
expressway over the poor
state of the institution and the intention of the lecturers to go on strike which the
perceived may disrupt their
examination and academic
activities.

It was learnt that in the
course of the protest, the
students went violent and
destroyed two cars in the
convoy of the Esama of Benin Kingdom in the state, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, which were among other vehicle caught up in the gridlock caused by the protest.

About nine students of the
institution including the SUG
president, Mr. Emmanuel
Emenaghamwon has been
arrested in connection with
the protest and have been taken to a prison facility in
the state and may appear in
court soon.
