A total of 477 students were formally admitted into the Federal University Gashua for the 2015/2016 academic session during the matriculation ceremony of the institution.

Speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Andrew Haruna, said that the matriculated students include 45 from Faculty of Agriculture, 290 from Faculty of Arts Management and Social Sciences and 142 are from the Faculty of Science.

He urged the students to familiarize themselves with the rules and regulations guiding the university as any student who contravenes any of the rules will be sanctioned.

“I want you to study your matriculation oaths document properly. It contains strong instructions and warnings to you. Should you contravene any of these, the full weight of the university laws would be applied in form of sanctions and punishment,” he said.

The VC added that the fresh students should take their studies seriously in order to achieve their aim of coming to the university.
