The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. Sulyman Kazaure has revealed that lack of funds may hinder the mobilization of 2016 Batch A Stream (II) prospective Corps members for orientation which was supposed to commence on Friday 20th, 2016.

The Director General who disclosed this during an interactive session with the senate committee on Sports in Abuja stated that the reason behind this is the fact that the money required for the exercise has not been provided by the federal Government even after several letters have been written to the appropriate agencies and even the presidency.

He however expressed hope that the Federal Government may make a last minute effort in providing the urgent and much needed fund for the programme.

In response, the Chairman of the senate committee, Sen. Obinna Ogba (PDP Ebonyi Central) assured the DG of senate’s intervention on the issue stating that the problem will be tackled quickly by the Federal Government using every option available as NYSC is not something to joke with.
