Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor,
Prof James Epoke, congratulated the new
students, who are among the over 25,000
applicants that chose the university as their
first choice during the Unified Tertiary
Matriculation Examination (UTME).

He said that a total of 12,340 scored above
180 in JAMB last year and were invited for
the attitude test, through which they were
the lucky students to be admitted.

The VC advised them to abide by the school
rules and regulation as the university does
not tolerate indiscipline.

Prof. Epoke also told the students they must
have 75 per cent lecture attendance to be
allowed to write examination and stressed
that his administration has zero tolerance
for examination malpractice and vices that
could tarnish the image of the school.

Also speaking, the Registrar of the
institution, Mr Moses Abang, called on the
fresh students to make good use of the
school library to equip themselves
academically.
