63 Bags First Class, as Bayero University Graduates 8,875 Students

Following the speech during the event, the Vice
Chancellor of the university, Professor
Abubakar Adamu Rasheed said that 63 of
the graduands bagged First Class Honours.

A total of 8,875 students received their
Bachelor’s degree certificates during the
31st convocation ceremonies of the Bayero
University, Kano (BUK)
which took place recently.

He stated that the Institution also conferred
a total of 5,049 higher degrees and postgraduate diplomas on deserving graduands, out of which 80 received
Doctorate degrees, 3,146, Master’s degrees,
while 1,824 were awarded Postgraduate
Diplomas.

While congratulating the graduands, the VC
urged them to be worthy ambassadors of
theUniversity. He advised them to strive to
embody the core values of humility and
sacrifice, discipline and commitment, as
well as tolerance and respect for differences.

The highlight of the Convocation was the
conferment of the title of Professor Emeriti
on five distinguished retired Professors
of the University, who had made a mark in
their various fields of learning.
